AI-PRISM

European Robotics Forum 2023: AI-PRISM will participate in the workshop “Human-Robot Collaboration & AI in challenging industrial applications”

In March 2023, the European Robotics Forum (ERF2023) will take place in Odense, Denmark, one of the most influential events for the European robotics and artificial intelligence community. The three-day event is the meeting point for engineers, academics, entrepreneurs, investors, end-users and policymakers in the field of robotics from all over Europe and beyond. As a project focused on Human-centred and AI-based solutions, AI-PRISM will be present to tackle the human and social aspects of sustainability with projects FELICE, RaRe2, RESPECT and FEROX in a workshop.

The ERF2023 covers all aspects and current themes related to robotics. It has many hundreds of attendees every year. The workshop organized by partners Profactor (PRO) and the Polytechnical University of Valencia (UPV), where AI-PRISM will be showcased, will be held on the 14th of March at 9:00 CET. It will address Agile Production, Robotics and AI/Big Data Value, autonomy, collaborative Robots, and cloud robotics.

Collaborative robots (HRC) in the industry are underused; they are mainly regarded as tools that relieve workers of physical fatigue and enjoy limited autonomy and intelligence. Therefore, AI-PRISM, FELICE, AGILE HAND, MERGING, ZEROP, RESPECT and FEROX projects will gather to discuss their preliminary results, insights, and challenges in HRC and AI in manufacturing scenarios. The focus is on improving the capability of HRC and AI to deal with complex tasks and to reduce the skills barrier.

The workshop will have keynote speakers invited from academic research and industry, sharing their perspectives and experiences. From the #AIPRISM25 team, Sharath Chandra Akkaladevi from PRO, and Paul Chippendale from Bruno Kessler Foundation (FBK) and Francesco Francisco Blanes (UPV) will answer questions on HRC. AI is applied/implemented in manufacturing scenarios, workers and their ability to learn to interact with these collaborative systems and, in turn, these machines’ ability to reason, react and interact with human workers. Additionally, the topics in the workshop will be supported by trigger inputs from the audience via online tools to stimulate dialogue between the audience and experts.

If you want to follow our workshop, registrations are open at this link. For participants attending the forum physically, you can join us in Room 301 – 3rd floor. All the information will be wrapped up, and a summary will be available for those interested in our findings after the workshop! So stay tuned for more details.
