The AI-PRISM consortium holds the necessary expertise to strategically improve the EU Smart manufacturing value chain in four domains: collaborative environment, robot perception and recognition, robot programming and human factors. We are working to achieve a suitable trade-off between complementary and overlapping among the industrial partners.
To define our technical approach, we dedicated a work package to our project’s architecture, usage models, and functional and technical specifications needed in the human-robot collaborative ecosystem. At the frontline of our functional specifications, we have partner Teknopar Industrial Automation (TEK) from Turkey, ensuring that the selected technologies and existing components fit the requirements and that interfaces for all AI-PRISM components.
Today the TEK team is sharing a video showcasing how their company is among the top 10 companies that provide big data solutions for digital transformation in Europe and successfully influence the market. Founded in 1996 and based in Ankara, the Research and Development performing SME is one of Turkey’s leading providers of automation systems and solutions for industrial facilities, energy, and mobility sectors. At AI-PRISM, they are providing us with their expertise to integrate our technologies in the collaborative environment that will be developed in Silverline’s use case, final control, and packaging stations of home appliances in Turkey.
TEK offers solutions compatible with robotics, computer vision, Artificial Intelligence and Automation and Control Systems. Therefore, they are working on the functional specification document of AI-PRISM to provide an in-depth definition of the functionalities/behaviours of all our system components. Furthermore, the functional components will be mapped to user stories to explain further how related requirements are fulfilled, and interactions between AI-PRISM system components will be detailed and depicted to guide the overall flow of functionalities and data between them.
TEK’s approach is to develop novel solutions based on our multidisciplinary expertise, which involves embedded computing, the Internet of Things (IoT), and information systems with real-time big data processing. At AI-PRISM, TEK will cooperate with industrial use case provider Silverline, co-technology provider A&G and research partner ETRI to develop an intelligent, adaptable and collaborative control station. More concretely, TEK is responsible for creating a computer vision system for AI-PRISM cobots.
TEK’s strong R&D expertise in key areas is necessary to ensure the successful development of the AI-PRISM human-robot ecosystem. Thanks to their contributions, the team will have the foundation for the work in the other RTD work packages and the technical specifications. On the other hand, home appliances (hoods) manufacturing industries will have a solution to improve their resources management efficiency, production time and costs, as well as for their personnel a reduction of cognitive load required to perform their tasks.
