Interviewing Iliyana Yordanova Zongova, Smart Innovation and Strategic Investments at NTT Data Spain
The strength of a European project such as AI-PRISM is the interdisciplinary and transversal working approach of a group of 25 entities plus an affiliated one. Social sciences and humanities permeate the innovative ecosystem to provide the most robust and complete solution to manufacturing environments where tasks are challenging to automate, and speed and versatility are essential.
To commemorate International Women’s Day, we are interviewing the women behind the team working on the most social approach of the project. Today we are honoured to meet Iliyana Yordanova Zongova, Smart Innovation and Strategic Investments at NTT Data Spain.
Find below what she has told us about her experience and profession as a woman working on European Innovation.
Hello Iliyana, thanks for this interview!
What is your role at AI-PRISM?
Thank you for having me today!
In AI-PRISM, I support the coordination and execution of the tasks for innovation management and exploitation of project results, which comprises among others: exploitation roadmapping, competitors’ benchmarking and business models design.
During and after the end of a Research and Innovation project, partners are interested in getting the most of their work and of the developed solutions.
This does not only involve commercial exploitation, but the society as a whole can benefit in many ways from these results as well. In the long term, to ensure the sustainability of the exploitable results, it is also key to focus on real-life scenarios through well-designed business models.
What makes you proud of working in AI-PRISM?
AI-PRISM is implemented by innovation leading entities in Europe which seek to develop AI-based solutions for the manufacturing industry with an important focus on human responses and skills in the interaction between robots and people.
In this sense, I am proud of working on a project that accelerates the digital transformation of the European industry while at the same time tries to safeguard and enforce the EU people-centred values on the said transformation.
How can we attract more women to work in Horizon EU projects such as AI-PRISM?
Horizon EU projects are great opportunities to explore many different and highly innovative fields, meet multicultural teams and get to know EU countries.
In Europe, women outnumber men as tertiary education students in many fields in SSH. For this reason, I believe the Universities should be the target of actions directed towards disseminating EU innovation-related work opportunities.
Thank you Iliyana for the open talk!
Thank you for the invitation.
